ConfidenceKini Day 1

This weekend the sun finally came out, and I definitely was not tanned or skinny enough to cope with the sudden appearance of sunshine. Plenty of brands and gyms are getting ready to release their “get ready for summer workout plans”. Usually I do the Tone It Up Bikini Series (which starts May 7 and lasts 8 weeks), however this year I’m giving Lauren Gleisberg’s ConfidenceKini a try. ConfidenceKini is only 5 weeks long – which makes it easier to follow, the food is REAL food you’ll want to eat and the workouts are challenging but do not last for hours. Oh yeah and there is a killer ab workout as well. The challenge officially started yesterday, so I thought I would post my accountability here. For the next five weeks on Tuesday’s I will give a recap of my previous week, however follow along at Petitefitnessista on Instagram to stay up to date with how the challenge is going for me, what I am eating everyday and if I am keeping up with workouts. Are you doing any fitness challenges?

P.S. before and after photos will be revealed at the end of the 5 weeks!

Confidential Review

 Had a little double date night Saturday when we went to see Maks – Val – Peta Confidential at the Fox Theatre. If you don’t know Confidential features ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd. The show is designed to give you a little inside look into their lives and loves. The show reveals secrets, dreams and hopes that they have -  oh and a little Chip n’ Val show in between. Ladies I’m talking every girls dream here, fire turnout gear, hoses and hot dancing…. yup you’re not going to want to miss this. In this show you will not see any traditional dancing it’s very energetic and flashy so if you are looking for a tango you won’t find it in this show. If you’re looking for amazing dancing with some rockin’ bodies – this is the show for you.

Currently Coveting

Anyone else in full on warmer weather shopping mode? Lately, I have been shopping for rompers, UPF attire and of course anything with bows. Above you will find some of my favorites.

Restaurant Review: Supino Pizzeria

Located on Russell Street in the heart of Eastern Market you’ll find Supino Pizzeria. Let me tell you, if you like New York style greasy thin crust pizza this is the place for you. Andrew and I checked it out before seeing Cinderella a few weeks back and both really enjoyed it. Since we were very short on time we just ordered slices instead of an entire pizza. I got my slice with cheese only and he got his with pepperonis. Where should we try pizza at next?

Are You Keeping Up with the Change?

{photo is a stock image}

In a world where technology changes by the day, can you keep up? Is your company performing to the best of its ability, and getting to actually know the consumer? I mean really know the consumer? Do you know where they’re from? They’re age or how they use your website? If the answer is no have no fear there are tools to help you get the information you need to have your business perform at its highest ability. Companies and brands are using things such as embedded analytics to get the information that will be most useful to them. I’m sure you’ve heard of Google Analytics, where you can find out who is on your site, which page they’re on where they are from and so much more. Knowing key components of analytics is what is going to help you take your business, brand or company to the next level. Use Google analytics along side embedded analytics to get the most performance driven information. Some believe that since they’re business has been doing find for the past X amount of years that they don’t have to evolve with the change, and that’s just not the case. Without change, restructuring and knowing who is actually on your website you’re setting your business up for complete failure. Just because something worked in 2000 does not mean it’s going to work in 2018. Analytics, SEO and more have evolved greatly and it’s time for you to make that change as well. Will you make the change? Will you take the next step and bring your business to the top of its game? Make it appear on the first page of a google search. Will you work on paid ads and campaigns across the internet to draw attention to your company? If you can’t do the things needed to improve your companies value, then are you willing to hire someone to take charge and learn the trends? It’s absolutely critical that you know who is on your website and what they’re doing. If people are staying for mere seconds you need to figure out what you’re doing wrong. If you have a shopping cart and people are bailing on the shopping cart see why they’re bailing and figure out how you can fix it. Be proactive and take your business to the next level. I once worked for a company who wouldn’t listen to what its employees were saying and the site completely failed because they didn’t learn the customer, they were charging extra for no reason and it just steered consumers into the arms of our competition including ME because I couldn’t even figure out how to navigate the site. So are you staying still or moving with the time?

Lugz and I Were Mint To Be

 {this is a sponsored post - I received these shoes in exchange for an honest review}
If you know me, you know that I love when my shoes match my outfit. If I don't have an outfit that goes with my shoes, I will go buy an outfit to go with my shoes. I recently discovered Lugz, not only do they offer boots they also offer kicks in some pretty fab colors. Currently they have white, black/white, sky, pink and minty which I am wearing in the picture above. The color is amazing, and they're so comfortable. I think out of all the shoes that I own these get the most attention when I wear them out. I love that these shoes have a cushioned insole and durable rubber outsole - they even held up really nicely on an impromptu hike.

Goal Digger

Before Friday’s workout class started the trainer asked us to write down our goal/why we are coming to classes. Sure summer is coming and I want to look good in a bathing suit, lose weight, be healthier etc etc. Aside from all of that, why am I actually working out? Why am I putting my all into these classes? What I wrote on the paper was “to tone up and gain confidence”. The root of it all is I lack body confidence, and I want to look good naked. All the tools are in front of me to reach my goals. I am trying to be realistic, and making sure everything is actually attainable. So what’s your health and fitness goal? Why are you on this journey?

Bonefish Grill

If you remember from this post A took me to River Crab for my birthday, where we had an absolutely amazing seafood meal. We started with their firecracker shrimp (which was seriously amazing), while at the restaurant he informed me that Bonefish Grill has Bang Bang shrimp that is even better than River Crab’s version, so Thursday he surprised me with date night at Bonefish Grill in Troy. We started the evening with an order of Bang Bang shrimp, which is crispy itty-bitty shrimp that has been tossed in their signature creamy spicy sauce and is out of this world delicious. The shrimp was super filling, and since I don’t eat a ton we decided to split a meal of scallops which were fantastic as well. All around great first time experience at Bonefish.

Dying Easter Eggs

Did anyone else dye eggs for Easter? A and I did, and even though Easter is over I had to share our eggcellent masterpieces.

Kroger Prep + Pared: Coconut Curry Chicken

Anyone else a huge fan of date nights that involve food? One thing I really appreciate about Andrew is how adventurous our eating is - from home cooked meals to eating out sometimes thinking outside the box really makes the meal. You've read about our love for Kroger's Prep + Pared Meal Kits and this week we gave the Coconut Curry Chicken a try, and let me tell you the flavor was amazing. The Coconut Curry Chicken box came with Lemongrass Chutney, Toasted Rice + Green Beans for a culinary explosion of flavor. The kit included everything we needed to create a restaurant quality meal at a fraction of the cost.

55 Days Until Memorial Day

Anyone else focusing on that beach bod? In just 55 days it will be the unofficial start to summer. Kind of scary, but it gives me plenty of time to get my body ready for sunny days on the beach and of course A’s boat. Since I really like seeing what workouts others are doing and what they’re eating, I thought I would pay it forward and do the same. In an effort to not turn my blog into a health zone, I am going to stick with posting the health and fitness aspect of my life each Tuesday (which is what I have been doing for the past couple of years now). If you want to see what I am eating daily, how I am meal prepping, my workouts and more head over to my fitness account on Instagram.

Goals for the next 55 days
Drink at least 65 ounces of water per day
Focus on eating clean
Meal prep
Workout at least 6 days a week
Focus on my core
Build a more round and firm booty
Limit sugar intake
Avoid processed foods

Working out at home takes discipline, and while I am capable of working out at home I just don’t push myself like I should. Therefore, I committed the next three months to an all babe studio, and I am hoping to get some killer results. I took pictures this morning and will post before and after at the 55 day mark.

Easter 2018

The ground began to shake, the stone was rolled away, his perfect love could not be overcome – forever He is Risen. Hope you all had a Hoppy Easter. I started my morning bright eyed and bushy tailed with a trip to church, and then headed to my parents house for Easter brunch. This was the first year that Meeme was not with us for Easter, and let me tell you it definitely was not the Easter I know. Papa started eating immediately, therefore we didn’t say grace (super annoyed with this - yes I did say them in my head – not the point), no one yelled at me to not throw the frosting from my cake out…etc. My mum did a beautiful job creating a Victorian brunch, but all together it was a strange vibe, so Jackers and I found our way outside where we soaked up vitamin D.  Here’s what brunch looked like…

Maksim Chmerkovskiy said; “Our Way was just the beginning of the story. This time I’m a husband, a father, in the best shape of my professional career and still learning on and off the dance floor every day.  I’ve had two of the most eventful years of my life and I can’t wait to use my favorite medium to express what’s on my mind and in my heart. Sharing a stage with my wife and my brother, what could be better than that!”

Peta Murgatroyd added; “Usually I’m acting out a love story through dance. This time there will be no acting, and we have the unique opportunity to perform a genuine love story. I found the power of Our Way to be the relationship between Maks and Val, and this time I hope to cut in on that love story!  What have I got myself into!”

Valentin Chmerkovskiy said; “Performing on the Our Way stage with my brother and some of the greatest dancers in the world was the highlight of my career so far. This time we have set the bar higher, and given ourselves more time and freedom to create, rehearse and ultimately perform the show that we can honestly say is our very best. No excuses. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy performing it for you.”
