Goodbye 2018, and Hello 2019. Can you believe it’s already 2019, and 20 years ago we were partying like it was 1999 - so crazy! For me, 2018 was just an okay year. Sure, it was filled with a lot of fun moments, but I really didn’t get to soak in a lot of those moments. To be honest I feel like I missed out on a lot of things too. 2018 was a year of struggle for me, for starters my career (or lack there of) was taking me down more than I thought it was. My job changed me from the bubbly happy girl that everyone loved to be around, to someone who lacked confidence, started arguments and genuinely was not happy. My depression from work carried over into my personal life. Honestly, I wasn’t enjoying life and was just going through the days. Thankfully, right before Thanksgiving I started a new position at a new company and I am finally feeling like I am getting back to my high energy bubbly self again.
I am thrilled that 2019 is starting off on a positive note, and cannot wait to see what this year has in store for me. One of my intentions for 2019 is to see the good, therefore I found it only fitting to share with you some of my favorite moments from the past year. Here are 12 of my favorite memories/moments of 2018:
Drove across the Blue Water Bridge, used my passport and tried poutine - all for the first time.
Went on plenty of amazing icy adventures, and learned that I don't need to drive all the way up north to discover plenty of beauty.
Went to the Auto Show for the FIRST TIME EVER - pathetic since I am a Detroiter. The experience was amazing and I cannot wait for the opportunity to go back again.
Driving to Illinois with my boyfriend to spend the day on a steam engine locomotive was probably one of my favorite memories/experiences of the year. This was one of those experiences that I would have probably never done in my life if it wasn't for A. He has a love for trains and volunteered to be a medic, and managed to get me on the train as well. People dressed in 1940's and 1950's clothing and the experience was one of a kind. It's definitely something I would love to go back and do again.
Took the boat to get dinner, multiple times and discovered new (to me) restaurants on the water. If you have never taken a boat to dinner I highly recommend doing it at least once in your life and watching the sunset afterwards. Summers are 100 percent made to be spent on the water, and taking the boat to dinner.
Attended Friendgiving with people I had never met before, and had the best time!
Rode in a dune buggy on the sand dunes for the first time ever and it was so much fun. Also a lot of memories from the dunes that will forever last a lifetime.
My baby turned 6! You guys, I seriously cannot even believe this! Time is flying by with this little one and I need it to SLOW DOWN!
Tried a TON of foods I have never had before, and expanded my taste pallet. If you have any food recommendations for me, please share!
