Pumpkin Carving

When it comes to Halloween there are a few traditions that I follow.
1. Head to the pumpkin patch and pick out the perfect pumpkin.
2. Spend way too much time trying to decide what to carve.
3. Eat pizza while carving pumpkins.
4. Make pumpkin seeds.
my favorite are coconut oil, cinnamon + sugar and salt.
5. Eat taco salad on Halloween.
I honestly have not dressed up for Halloween since 2007 (I was Strawberry Shortcake), so the costume part is usually out for me – however the pumpkin carving part is always a must.

Nestled away in the quiet little town of Romeo, you will find the busiest street during October. Tillson street is Romeo’s version of Halloweentown, homeowners on the street go all out for Halloween to create some of the most unique and terrifying Halloween displays that you will ever see. Here is a little peek at my favorite houses on the street….. oh PS for you clown loves (I haaaate clowns) there is a super creepy clown house, which also has equally as creepy clowns roaming the streets and display.

A-Maize-Ing Adventure

I know it might sound corny, but corn maze adventures at twilight have easily become one of my new fall favorites. Honestly, corn mazes during the day have nothing on corn mazes at night.... I highly recommend it.

Splish Splash

With temperatures cooling off and the holidays quickly approaching all I can picture is myself walking on a white sandy beach listening to the waves of the ocean crash in. Something I have been looking for is a good pair of water shoes. A Leader offers water shoes that have been getting some amazing reviews and come in a color that is sure to match anyone's style. I am loving these pink and gray ones for water adventures. With a price point within budget I definitely think these water shoes should be on everyone's travel essential list.

Oodles of Noodles

Ever since fall hit here in the mitten state it’s been more like summer instead of fall. Sooner or later the leaves will be off the trees and the temperatures will have dropped, therefore the only thing on my mind will be comfort food. Noodles & Company is one of my go-to fall comfort food restaurants. From pasta and mac and cheese to salads Noodles & Company has a little something for everyone. Recently I had the opportunity to give their menu a try, and let me tell you I now have some new favorites.

Wanderlust 108 Detroit

Wanderlust 108 came to Detroit (Belle Isle to be exact), and the experience was amazing. Wanderlust is a mindful triathlon, and features a 5K, Yoga and Meditation.

The 5K is your way, so you can run, walk, skip or dance - the only thing they ask is that you make it to the finish line.

90 minutes of yoga flow underscored by a DJ... what could be better. Yoga was instructed by Chelsey Korus, and I loved how she told sounds to make so you actually understood where your belly and form should be.

30 minutes of guided meditation had my mind completely relaxed.

I highly recommend getting the Wanderbowl for lunch if you do a 108. The Wanderbowl is brown rice topped with black beans slowed cooked with onions and garlic, topped with our own special sauce filled with spices, then layered with white cheddar cheese, covered with mango lime cilantro salsa and avocado. You can also get it without cheese.
