{new puppy: jack}
For those of you that do not know - I have never been a huge fan of animals. My college roommate can vouch for that.  However on Tuesday that all changed when I bought this 11 week old Morkie. If you have any tips on potty training or tips in general please share! My weekend will be filled with plenty of prepping and decorating for Thanksgiving. What are your plans?

  6. Congratulations on your new little bundle of love! SO cute! Are you going to be house training Jack or training him to go outside? We were able to potty train Henry by the time he was 5 months old. The thing that helped the most for us was placing a string with a bell on the door. Every time we took Henry outside to go to the bathroom we would "ring the bells." Eventually, we a lot of discipline and doing it every time we went outside - he got the hang of it and started to go to the door and ring the bells to let us know he needed to go potty. It has also worked successfully for many of my friends. Best of luck and let me know if you want more advice! I'm filled with it!

  7. Congrats on being a fur momma. The one thing I cant stress enough the importance of a routine. Doing the same thing with regards to potty training and training in general will allow puppykins to learn what to expect.
    And once he has nailed going on the paper, in time, you can start moving the paper closer and closer to the door or backyard door so whenever he goes there you can anticipate it by letting him out when he looks like he is going to use the bathroom.
    I love nicole's idea. I live in an apartment so that wouldnt work for us. But Mickey is a good girl and because i anticipated her potty times, i took her out whenver i came home. She began to associate my coming home with a potty break.
    Its a rough start but perservere! He will make you very happy!

  9. Oh my gosh, Jack is so precious! When I got a puppy, we had a dog trainer come, and he suggested using a cheese stick and cutting it into really tiny pieces to reward him when we were training him!

    1. We also did this with Henry - great idea! The reason why cheese works so well is that it is a soft tasty treat. With hard treats, sometimes puppies forget while eating them why they got them in the first place.

      It's also great nutrition for puppies!

  13. Jack is adorable. Giving Belle a treat each time she went out and did her business helped her along. Though now she still expects one each time she comes in from outside

  15. Awwwww little Jack is ADORABLE! What a fun little new addition around the holidays! When my doggie would go potty outside we would say Good Job and be excited, and be real excited and give him kisses to reward him! Now he still makes sure we see him go since he likes being verbally rewarded!
