10 Beauty Secrets Every Girl Should Know

 Nails stained from dark polish
• Stick your nails into lemon halves for five minutes and your nails will brighten up instantly.
Skin is always dry
• After you shower towel dry and apply lotion. This way moisture will be locked in and scaly skin will be gone.
Balancing out shimmer
• If you are going to have shimmery eye makeup; have matte lips.
 Make your manicure last
• Apply a thin layer of clear coat every day beginning at the tip.
 The Perfect Red Pout
• When deciding on a red lipstick it is critical you get one that  goes good with your undertone. If you are warm undertone you will want warmer reds, and if your undertone is cooler you will want a cooler red. Find out your undertone here.

• Always condition from your ears down.
 Cleaning makeup brushes
• Is important to fight against breakouts and potential bacteria. You should clean your brushes a minimum of once a month.
Funky hair trends
 • During the Peter Som Fashion Week Spring 2012 show the models had a touch of peach streaked into their hair. To get this look without dying your hair dust bright blush into your hair or ponytail for the same effect without the damage.
Chipped nails and no time to change
• add glitter or the newest trend crackle polish (which I hate) on top to disguise the look of chipping.
Is this polish wrong for me?
If your cuticle looks red, brown, or darkened when a polish is applied, the color is wrong for  you!

Do you have any beauty secrets you want to share?

PS Next week I will post about what I use on my hair!

Homemade Apple Sauce

One of the many things that I love about Michigan is being able to go and pick apples. Come fall time every year my mum and I go out to our favorite apple orchard and pick apples. Then comes the caramel apples, apple pie...etc. My mum always makes my dad apple sauce every year with the fresh apples. This year I actually paid attention to how she makes it, and it's so easy I just had to share it with you!
Mum's Homemade Apple Sauce
5 apples; diced
1/2 c. fresh apple cider (if you dont have cider you can use water)
1/4 c. sugar
few dashes of cinnamon

Over medium heat simmer the apples in the cider or water with the lid on until they can be smashed with a fork. Just before you smash the apples stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Remove from the heat and smash your apples until they are the consistency that you'd like. Serve cold.

How To: Create a Hair Bow

For most of my life I have been wearing my hair up in a ponytail, braid or some sort of messy updo. A while ago I showed my hair in a hair bow, and I received numerous requests to see just how it's done. It's easier to do a hair bow if you have shorter hair (you'll get a prettier bow).  If you have long hair like mine just be armed with lots of bobby pins to complete the look.

Five Things

 {Apple picking with Mum at Miller's Big Red}
Last Friday I headed home to Michigan on one mission.... to go apple picking with my mum. A tradition that we have done every year since I was basically a baby. While we were able to go to Miller's Big Red apple orchard and pick some amazing apples we were both sick and feeling very under the weather - which meant that shopping really didn't take place... at all.

Ballet Flats... Love Them or Hate Them?

Flats can always make any outfit look classy and put together. I am only 4'11 so I usually avoid flats and wear heels. However with flats in every single store I have myself wanting a pair. I began to try pairs on, and the problem I found is toe cleavage.... it's not a sexy look. Does anyone else have that problem? What is your favorite brand/pair of flats?

Whimsical Runway Ponytails

While going through pictures from NYFW SS12 I noticed a trend...ponytails are a must and there are so many creative ways to do them. From bumps, to bubbles and added in braids I am loving the looks and definitely will be recreating them. What do you think of these ponytails?
