Since the Oscar's are tomorrow her and I have complied for you how to throw your very own at home Oscar Party.
The Oscar's are all about celebrities and fashion so it's time to bring that glitz and glamor into your own home this year.

The Red Capet Ready Cocktail
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Tequila
- Half oz. Orange Liqueur
- 3 crushed raspberries
- A splash of cranberry juice
- 1 lime
- Golden caster sugar
- 1 orange
Directions
1.Wet the rim of a tall martini glass using a wedge of orange and rim the glass with golden caster sugar.2. Add Tequila, lime quarters, Orange liqueur, cranberry juice and the crushed raspberries to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously.
3. Strain the contents into your sugar rimmed martini glass, and garnish with a small wedge of orange.
The Dress
When picking out what you'll wear to an Oscar party you want to make sure it's something that will show off your best assets. Do you have an Ann Hathaway back? If so have your dress be backless. Want to accentuate your curves try a wrap dress.
The "Fab" factor
While your dress is gorgeous you need a little accent to your outfit so try a statement necklace, large headband, cocktail rings or statement earrings.
The Makeup
It's your time to shine so wear makeup that will get people talking. From a dramatic eye look like Nicole Richie has or gorgeous hot pink lipstick like Sandra.
OMG SHOES!
We all know shoes are an important part of the overall look. Those stilettos will give you added height that make you look taller, but slimmer as well. Don't want to spend money on shoes? Take a pair of black or nude heels and clip on a pair of statement earrings or a flower for some added glamour.
Hair
When it comes to achieving a look hair can make it or break it. For instance if you have a beautiful ball gown type dress don't go for the sleek pulled back pony-tail. It will completely ruin your look. You would want to try more of a weddingesque up-do. Remember your hair should compliment your outfit.
Nails
You want your nails to be seen, but not be the center of attention. Light colors and nudes are popular with light color dresses or to play it safe. If you are wearing a bold red dress make your nails either one shade darker or lighter of that red.
Party ideas
• most girls dream about getting their picture taken on the red carpet. So set up a photo station and ask a friend to come take some glamour shots at your party.
• Always have a signature cocktail
• serve some fabulous goodies
• send everyone home with a little goodie bag
one year our goodies basket for each guest included
• a bottle of nail polish
• a mini nail grooming kit
• lip gloss
• photo album for the party photos
• directions for making the Oscar signature cocktail on a magnet
Here is the favorite signature drink that we served
Pretty in Pink
Pour the vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice and lime juice into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, strain into a cocktail glass that has been rimmed in pink sugar, and serve.
Will you be throwing a party?

SOOO much fun! I live in France, so we can't watch the Oscars when they are on, but this is an excellent idea for the future, what a fun girls night!! And thanks for the love on my blog! I am now following you, can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt really call my thing a party.. But im making popcorn and hot coco... Id love to be drinking and getting a buzz on .. Hoo Hum...
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute post! I will be watching only the pre-show unfortunately, the time difference dramatically hinders my ability to get up for work in the morning. Only one thing to disagree with, I think simple hair, like a ponytail, looks so good with certain dresses.

Great post, I hope the voyage will be successful.
ReplyDeleteTraditional clapperboards used to consist of a wooden slate and a hinged clapstick attached to the top of the slate. However, modern clapperboards now generally use a pair of wooden sticks atop whiteboard or translucent acrylic glass slates which do not require additional lighting from the camera side to be legible.
