Bride and Groom gift exchange


Will you and your groom exchange wedding presents- Did you exchange wedding presents- Would you want to?

It has become an optional tradition for the bride and groom to exchange gifts the night before the wedding, the morning of, or once the festivities are over. Traditionally the groom buys the bride a pearl necklace and the bride gets the groom cuff links.

The boy and I will be exchanging gifts the night before our wedding, and let me tell you he is going to LOVE his gift! I would tell you what it is, but he reads this!

Here are some ideas for any budget.

Traditional
For her
• A string of pearls to wear
• One dozen red roses
• Diamond Earrings
• Jewelry box with an all-important item for the bride to wear on the wedding day with a note that you will fill the box.

For him
• Cuff links
• Embroidered handkerchief
• A silk tie
• A clock with a note engraved on the back.
• A watch

Tight Budget
• A photo album or photo frame with a favorite picture of the two of you
• A handwritten love letter
• A greeting card with sentiments of how you feel this day
• A mixed CD of all your favorite songs


The Sky is the Limit
for him
• Golf Clubs
• iPod
• Portable DVD player
• Brand new tv
• sky diving tickets
• Money clip
•cruise tickets for a future vacation


for her
• designer sunglasses
• a new purse
• a bracelet
• iPod
• tennis bracelet
• tickets for a future vacation
• dinner at that restaurant that is impossible to get into

  1. Hey sweetie, hope you're enjoying your summer and having so much fun! Matt and I had recently bought a home and new cars before we got married, but we did exchange small gifts before the wedding - I gave him an antique pair of gold fleur de lis cufflinks from a New Orleans jeweler, and he gave me a strand of pearls, that are my very favorite to this day. I can't wait to hear what you two exchange!! :) xoxo

  2. I would love to give him something, but our budget is not oging to allow it. I think I am going to give him a letter - he loves when I write to him. Better get cracking, the wedding is Friday!!!

  4. We did not do a gift exchange. I think the rings and vows were enough in our minds. Oh and the honeymoon. We were together for 5 years before getting married so we weren't super traditional about things.

  7. I gotta be honest, sometimes I feel like people get carried away with the cost and extravagance of a gift.. I've never been married but I'd much rather receive something that he's saved or remembered from our first date or a turning point in our relationship rather than something totally flashy! But then again, I'm a total sap! haha

  10. They hubs and I didn't exchange wedding gifts, however, we did send each other notes right before the ceremony. It really helped to calm me down and remind me why I was doing all of the craziness that is a wedding.

  16. Michael send me beautiful flowers...and I got him a watch, that he ended up returning, haha...he is super picky...the toughest person to shop for, ever!! I didn;t want him to get me anything real expensive, I mean, he spent enough on the rings, and we paid for some of our wedding....these are all reat ideas though! I didn't even think of half of these, wish I saw this before I got married!

  18. I got the hubby cuff links that matches his ring. He seemed to enjoy them. He got me some paintings that have the lighthouse where we were engaged on them!

    As for the whole present exchange, I didn't even know the bride and groom exchanged gifts...I know nothing, obviously.

    At least I know now! hahaha :)
